Realme 6 Pro vs Poco X2 Comparison: Which One Should You Buy?

Realme has announced two new smartphones Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro in the Indian market. Poco launched its first smartphone Poco X2 under its X series as an independent brand in India. Both Realme 6 Pro and Poco X2 come with a similar price tag with Qualcomm’s gaming-centric mid-range chipset. Let’s compare both of them in terms of display, camera, processor, software and battery to find out which one is a better phone to buy under 17000 INR.

Design & Colours

Both phones offer premium design if we talk about materials. They are protected by Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back with a gradient finish glass back. Both of them comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner making them quite easy to lock and unlock the phone. Realme 6 Pro available in Lightning Blue and Lightning Orange colour options whereas Poco X2 comes in three colour variants which includes Atlantis Blue, Matrix Purple and Phoenix Red.

Display

In terms of display, Poco X2 sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display and a 120Hz refresh rate which has been incorporated via an LCD panel. Realme 6 Pro, on the other hand, comes with 6.6-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate. Realme 6 Pro comes with 20:9 aspect ratio, up to 480 nits brightness, a pixel density of about 399 PPI and 81.5% NTSC colour gamut. Whereas Poco X2 arrives with 20:9 aspect ratio, a pixel density of about 395 PPI, 500 nits brightness and  84% of NTSC colour gamut.

Camera

Speaking of cameras, both phones come with a 64MP primary quad-camera setup on the rear and a dual-camera setup on the front. Talking about the camera units, we see a 64MP primary Samsung GW1 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 12MP telephoto lens and a 2MP macro lens on Realme 6 Pro. Poco X2, on the other hand, comes with a combination of a 64MP Sony IMX686, 2MP macro lens, 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP depth sensor. The Realme 6 Pro has an in-screen selfie shooter combo of 16MP + 8MP whereas Poco X2 packs an in-display (hole-punch) dual-lens camera consisting of 20MP+2MP for selfies. Here, the Sony IMX686 is likely to take better pictures compared to Samsung GW1. However, software optimization on a device also plays a huge role to produce better photos.

Processor

Coming to the chipset of the devices, we see Qualcomm’s mid-range gaming chipset on both devices. We have Snapdragon 720G on Realme 6 Pro and Snapdragon 730G on Poco X2. Both processors are built on the 8nm manufacturing process with Adreno 618 GPU. However, we get support for ISRO’s NavIC navigation system with 720G. Battery

Realme 6 Pro features a 4300 mAh battery with support for 30W VOOC Flash Charge. Realme claims the 30W charger can charge the battery up to 68% in 30 minutes and 100% in an hour. On the other hand, Poco X2 packs a 4500 mAh battery with 27W fast charging tech support. The charger can charge the battery of the X2 from 0 to 40 per cent in just 25 minutes.

Software

Both phones run on Android 10 operating system. However, Realme 6 Pro comes with the company’s Android-based custom skin Realme UI v1.0 whereas we see Xiaomi’s custom ROM MIUI 11 on Poco X2 which is built on top of Android.

Which One Should You Buy?

As far as pricing is concerned, Realme 6 Pro is priced at Rs 16,999 for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage whereas the POCO X2 comes with a price tag of  Rs 15,999 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage version. If we look pricing details and specifications of both phones then it would be hard to find which one will be better between Realme 6 Pro and Poco X2. So, It all depends on the buyers and their requirements. On Poco X2 we are getting 120Hz display, Sony IMX686 sensor, Snapdragon 730G SoC, 4500 mAh battery and Rs 1,000 difference between the two for the 6GB+64GB model. So, Poco X2 could be a better choice under 17000 INR pricing segment.
