What's New for 2023?
For 2023, BMW has updated the X1 SUV. A more edgy dual-kidney grille conceals a more potent four-cylinder engine.
Its larger inside space for passengers and cargo than the previous generation promises is due to its larger outer dimensions.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The 2023 X1 has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, just like the outgoing model, however the new version has 241 horsepower, an increase of 13.
According to BMW, the X1's updated powertrain has enough power to drive it from 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds.
Additionally, BMW claims that the X1's suspension has been revised to actively contribute and handling.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
Fuel economy figures for the 2023 X1 have not yet been issued by the EPA, but we expect they will be comparable to those for the 2022 model.
It would get about 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the interstate. We'll update this article with the results once we've had an opportunity to test the X1 on our 75 mph interstate fuel economy route.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
We expect relatively modest increases in passenger capacity in the 2023 model because the outgoing 2022 X1 was quite large for its size.
With a toggle-switch shift lever, a floating centre console, an all-digital dashboard, and designer features like textured speaker grilles, the interior styling is more trendy this time.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The 2023 model is marginally longer, higher, and broader than the 2022 X1.
Ambient interior lighting, a power liftgate, and dual-zone automatic climate control are standard on all versions.
Infotainment and Connectivity
BMW's smallest SUV now features the company's most recent iDrive 8 infotainment system.
The X1's digital dashboard is a sharp-looking single panel that acts as both the gauge display and infotainment screen, just as the bigger iX electric SUV and the premium 7-series sedan.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Basic driver-assistance functions, including automated emergency braking and parking sensors, are standard on all X1 models,
Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
The class-average limited warranty and powertrain protection offered by BMW are supplemented by three years of free scheduled maintenance.
